Dear Church Family,

I am writing this update in response to this rapidly changing situation with the COVID-19 virus moving through the United States and to minimize its impact in our area. A couple days ago, President Trump and his COVID-19 team of experts, issued a recommendation for the entire country to shelter in place as much as possible for the next 15 days to keep the expediential spread of this virus from taking place. The recommendation is to have no groups larger than 10 people at any gathering.

As Christians who are citizens of the United States, we desire to honor God by supporting our President’s recommendations to suspend all public gatherings over 10 people. This policy will last for at least the next 15 days. We have temporarily canceled all other weekly ministries as well. As things unfold, we will provide you with updates throughout the week. (Romans 13:1-2 “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will [a]bring judgment on themselves.”)

Here is The President’s Guidelines for America for you to review.

What we are doing at Regeneration Calvary Chapel:

We have been working diligently to get out live streaming up and running. We have a few more details to work out at which time I will send out another communication with all the links needed to join us via live streaming tonight.

We encourage you to use today’s technology to remain connected to your church.  If you need assistance to be able to use the online services, please contact me for assistance. This has been a difficult decision as we know the need for fellowship is so important during troubled times.  One way to meet the need for fellowship is to invite small groups of friends and neighbors into your home to watch the live feed together.  This will allow many small groups around the community to use this time for sharing the love of Christ while being mindful to keep exposures to a minimum.  We also want to encourage you to share the live feed on your personal social media pages.  We want to see many come to Christ during this time of crisis. We want others to find the hope and peace we find in our relationship with Jesus.

I have a few other things to make you aware of during this time of uncertainty.  First, to our church members who are elderly, who are social distancing in your homes.  We are available to assist you if you need help with grocery shopping or small repair issues that arise at your home.

Secondly, for anyone who is sensing anxiety over the issues you are contending with, please contact us for prayer, we will gladly minister to you in any way we are able.

Finally, please be mindful of your financial stewardship at this time.  We will still be operating our current budget levels to keep the ministry available to all who are in need.  We encourage you to use the electronic option to give.  There are two ways to give.  You may give by going to https://secure.subsplash.com/ui/access/3PN6QV/  or by check to: PO Box 1593, Sandpoint, ID 83864.

Please continue to pray for us in this very fluid time of decision-making.  Please keep an eye on our website or social media sites for continual updates.  We are evaluating these decisions on a daily basis as information becomes available. Please continue to pray for our nation, state, and local community.  Let us pray for the name of Jesus to be lifted up and that people would be drawn to Him to find peace.

In His Grace,

Pastor Jason
